FNP START scholarship for Dr. Alicja Mikołajczyk

The Foundation for Polish Science for the 27th time awarded START scholarships for the most talented young scientists from all over Poland. Dr Alicja Mikołajczyk is one of five young doctors from the University of Gdansk who will receive this award amongst 100 young researchers representing 80 Polish universities and 19 scientific institutes. The amount of the annual scholarship is 28 thousand PLN, and the total amount that the Foundation will allocate to START scholarships in 2019 amounts to approx. PLN 3 million.

START is the largest scholarship program in Poland for the best researchers in their 30s representing all fields of science. It is the longest implemented Foundation program. The group of laureates of all competitions, including this year's, already has over 3,000 people. Scholarships, which can be used for any purpose, are to support financially young scientists in the difficult beginnings of their research career and enable them to devote themselves fully to science.
