New grant under Horizon2020 Programme for the University of Gdańsk

The NanoInformaTIX project was prepared by a consortium of nearly 40 partners and will be run for four years. The project aims to develop a computer platform that supports the process of designing nanomaterials safe for human health and the natural environment - in accordance with the idea of designing a safe product (safe-by-design). The implementation of developed computer tools will allow the prediction of toxicity of new nanomaterials at the product design stage. Thus, the developed approach will contribute to reducing time, costs of conducted experiments and will allow to limit to the minimum necessary tests performed on laboratory animals.

Project Manager from the University of Gdańsk will be Dr. Alicja Mikołajczyk from the Laboratory of Environmental Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry.

The budget of the whole consortium is EUR 6 million, and the amount of co-financing for UG is about 220,000 EUR.
